Lung cancer

Despite considerable efforts to improve lung cancer therapy, the overall survival rate of lung cancer patients has increased only marginally from 13% in 1975 to approximately 15% at present. Also, the continuous rise in the average age of the European population and the growing numbers of female smokers will aggravate the situation and increase the number of lung cancer patients. Taking into account the limited success of current therapies, this situation is calling for novel approaches to tackle lung cancer.

MUbio aims at developing new diagnostic and vaccination approaches for lung cancer. To reach this goal, several targets are tested in preclinical and clinical research.
